About

Living in the north east on the edge of a land trust, bears and other wildlife pass through my property on a daily basis. It's not uncommon to have three or four bears a day in my yard along with deer, foxes, bobcats, coyotes, raccoons, skunks, possums, and an occasional fisher cat. As someone who loves being outdoors, I often have an opportunity to catch them on video - sometimes without them knowing I'm there.

In some cases it does get a little uncomfortable - when you turn the corner and you unexpectedly are standing in front of three bears who are six feet away from you. Or you're gardening and happen to hear a small crack of a twig and  there's a 700 pound bear looking down on you. For the most part, these bears are just passing through looking for a free snack or a place to just lay down and relax for a few hours.

Throughout the years I've shared these videos with friends who have been encouraging me to post my videos on a public platform making it easier for everyone to enjoy and share with other friends. I hope you enjoy these short videos of our local visitors throughout the year.

Thanks for visiting Backyard Bear.
